NFTs and You: A Downward Spiral

With the recent discovery of a mass minting of Newgrounds Secret Santa 2020 artwork into OpenSea NFTs by someone impersonating Xinxinix, more than ever we ask: what the fuck is a nft, what the hell is web3 and can these people just lay down and die already?

Well friend, I made a article on my neocities blog just for you! No more wondering, instead you'll be laughing your ass everytime some cryptoNERD attempts to convince you to make tokens off your art. Say no to monetizing everything, say yes to a better web! And crypto shouldn't be there.

The article!

I'm tired of these cocksuckers stealing art and pretending to be the original artists selling the stealed as trading cards just for get dirty money via a very resource demanding Ponzi Scheme.

If you want to REALLY support an artiest, just donate them, ask for a commission, or simply share his art.

I’m pissed off enough as it is about NFTs, the “Metaverse,” and other ways that Big Tech is condescendingly telling us: “You will get nothing, and you will be happy,” thanks.

That's just awful! Hopefully karma comes back to bite them...and bite them hard.

On the "bright side" it costs a not-small-sum-of-money to mint so hopefully the a-hole that did this loses out in the long run. Maybe if enough people lose out by being gd thieves this'll die out. It's still literally modern money laundering and I highly doubt just any average artist could make anything worthwhile out of this.

Also I was really hoping NG would be safe from crypto thieves.

I hate the cryptobros who hijacked the definition of web3. Before this, it was supposed to mean a "machine-readable web" and everything related to it (data collection and processing, deep learning, etc.)

Now web 3 is basically crypto scams, rugpulls and grifters.

This is the reason why NFT should be consider illegal.

It was only a matter of time before some cocksucker started stealing art from Newgrounds to sell as NFTs. It seems to happen to any legitimate artist these days.

Now what's next? NFT society?

ETH wallet ungusbungus69420 buys some shitty pixel art from himself with his cocaine money but then realises he can make so much more money by tricking crypto bros and co. into giving him money and all the while some NFTbro lectures me on how the value is in the certifimicate of ownership on the cockblock chain sex tape or something.

I love everything about this. The web 1.0 style. The "fuck this fuck you" attitude with how it was written. It's like I went back in time to 2005. Also thanks for introducing me to neocities. Gonna have to make a site of my own later when I have the time.
